Obedience

I taught a lesson on Obedience in Relief Society in June. I desided to do a power point with the lesson and a talk by Pres. Uchdorf. Here is the powerpoint.  I played a CD of harp music in the bsckground as I presented.

Careers

Today we are doing self assessments.  In order to have a career that you will enjoy for life you need to know about yourself; learning styles, personality, time-energy and many other things.  I know many teens who don't know what they want to do for a career.  Taking these assessments can help you determine what you may want to do.  Along with taking a look at you interests and skills there are things like values that you need to look at also.

When you go to apply for a job you will be required to take some of these assessments.  Your employer wants to know if you fit their mission and values also.  These types of assessments are useful to you and others.  The more you understand your self the more sucessful you will be in life.  Take the time to get to know yourself.

Therapy is another good way to find out about your values, interest and skills.  Reading books, looking at the activities you like to do, trying new foods and activities can also assist you in this discovery.  Go for it the world is yours if you are willing to do the work.

Teaching

I love my job as a teacher.  I have the opportunity each day to make a difference in the world.  This is also a great responsibility.  I teach troubled youth.  This means I have students who have had difficulties in the public school system and difficult lives.  I relate to my students in many ways.  I was in special education classes though school and failed many classes.  I also had a difficult upbringing.  I feel that my life has prepared me for this calling and am very greatful for the difficulties in my life that have brought me to this point in my life.

I hope you enjoy reading this blog!
